Welcome to Week 5, where we dive into the top Boom and Bust players for your fantasy football lineup, courtesy of the Fantasy Football Advice Network. Let’s break down who’s set to explode and who might disappoint you this week.

Boom Players

1. Justin Fields (QB, Pittsburgh Steelers) Justin Fields is poised for a breakout performance this week against a struggling Dallas Cowboys defense. Fields has been improving steadily, feeling more comfortable in the Pittsburgh offense, and this could be his week to shine. With his ability to make plays both on the ground and through the air, expect Fields to take advantage of Dallas' vulnerability, especially against mobile quarterbacks. Look for a strong showing from him in Week 5.

2. Tucker Kraft (TE, Green Bay Packers) Tucker Kraft is emerging as the top tight end option for the Packers, taking over from Luke Musgrave. Going up against a Rams defense that has given up the 3rd most fantasy points to tight ends, Kraft is set for a productive week. If you're in need of a tight end, Kraft should be a solid streaming option.

3. Brandon Aiyuk (WR, San Francisco 49ers) After a slow start to the season, Aiyuk is ready to bounce back. With a favorable matchup against a weak defense, he’s primed for a breakout game. Despite his holdout earlier in the season, expect Aiyuk to re-establish his connection with QB Brock Purdy and finally start delivering on his top-15 receiver potential.

4. Ramondre Stevenson (RB, New England Patriots) Facing a porous Miami defense, Stevenson is due for a bounce-back game after a couple of rough outings. Miami allowed big rushing days to backs like Tony Pollard, and Stevenson could be in line for a solid performance. If you have him on your roster, he’s a safe bet to start this week.

5. Travis Kelce (TE, Kansas City Chiefs) With Rashid Rice out due to injury, Kelce's target share is expected to skyrocket. Though teams have started double-teaming him, the presence of rookie Xavier Worthy, with his speed to stretch the field, should keep defenses from focusing solely on Kelce. Look for him to return to elite production this week.

Bust Players

1. Pat Freiermuth (TE, Pittsburgh Steelers) Freiermuth is up against a Dallas defense that has been solid against tight ends this season. With Pittsburgh expected to focus heavily on the run game, Freiermuth may not see much action in the passing game. It’s best to temper expectations for him this week.

2. Sam Darnold (QB, Minnesota Vikings) Darnold’s been a fantasy darling so far, but this week he faces the New York Jets, who boast the toughest defense for opposing quarterbacks. The Jets haven’t allowed more than 15 fantasy points to a QB all season, making Darnold a risky start. It’s better to sit him this week, even if it stings.

3. James Conner (RB, Arizona Cardinals) San Francisco's defense is stout against the run, and Conner’s lack of involvement in the passing game severely limits his upside. The game script is likely to force Arizona to throw the ball, further reducing Conner’s chances of success. It’s a tough week for him, and he should be avoided if possible.

That wraps up our Week 5 Boom and Bust picks! Be sure to adjust your lineups accordingly and good luck with your matchups. Stay tuned for more weekly insights from the Fantasy Football Advice Network!

As we enter Week 5 of the fantasy football season, it's time to take advantage of sell-high opportunities and offload players who may have peaked in value. The Professor is back with three players who are great candidates to sell this week before their production potentially drops off. Let’s dive into the top sell-high targets for Week 5.

1. DeAndre Swift (RB, Chicago Bears)

If you’re a DeAndre Swift owner, this might be the perfect week to sell him high. After an underwhelming first few weeks where Swift finished outside the top 25-30 running backs, he finally had a standout Week 4 performance, largely due to his work in the passing game (7 catches for 72 yards). However, don’t count on this trend continuing.

Swift has been inefficient in the run game, averaging less than four yards per carry, and his role could shrink moving forward as rookie Roschon Johnson carves out a larger share of the backfield. Additionally, Swift has already lost goal-line touches, and with the depth at wide receiver in Chicago, his passing game usage is likely to decline as well.

Why Sell? Swift’s Week 4 performance may have been a fluke, and his role in Chicago is uncertain. Sell now while his value is high.

2. Jauan Jennings (WR, San Francisco 49ers)

Jauan Jennings is another player who might look appealing to fantasy managers after a decent Week 4 performance where he caught three passes for 88 yards. However, Jennings plays less than 50% of offensive snaps and doesn’t command a large target share in the 49ers’ offense. As Deebo Samuel gets healthier and returns to his usual role, Jennings’ already limited involvement could shrink even further.

Moreover, once Brandon Aiyuk is fully back, Jennings’ targets could become even more sporadic. Now is the perfect time to sell Jennings to a manager looking for receiver depth while his value is still intact.

Why Sell? Jennings has had a few solid games, but his long-term outlook isn’t promising as the 49ers' primary receivers return to full health.

3. Chase Brown (RB, Cincinnati Bengals)

Chase Brown has been a popular name floating around waiver wires and fantasy circles, but now is the time to capitalize on his buzz and sell him. Despite some offseason hype and the excitement surrounding his potential, Brown’s role in Cincinnati is not secure. The Bengals appear committed to using Zach Moss as their primary back, especially on passing downs and goal-line situations.

Brown has only played in two pass-blocking snaps this entire season, and his opportunities for significant fantasy production are limited as long as Moss continues to see most of the meaningful touches. Don’t get caught holding onto a player who may not live up to the current buzz.

Why Sell? Brown’s value is inflated due to offseason hype and a couple of recent performances, but his role is unlikely to expand, especially with Moss locked into key duties.

Final Thoughts

In fantasy football, timing is everything. Selling high on players like DeAndre Swift, Jauan Jennings, and Chase Brown after strong or hyped performances can help you secure better assets for the long run. As Week 5 approaches, it’s time to make some key trades that can set you up for success in the rest of the fantasy football season. The Professor has shared some prime buy-low candidates who could deliver great value as the season progresses. Here are three players to target this week.

          1. J.K. Dobbins (RB, Los Angeles Chargers)

J.K. Dobbins is quietly putting together a solid season, and now is the perfect time to grab him before his value skyrockets. Despite concerns about his health in previous years, Dobbins has looked strong this season. He's dominating touches in the Chargers' backfield, seeing more than 65% of the snap share, and his involvement has only been increasing, with over 70% in Week 4.

Currently, Dobbins is a top-15 RB in fantasy, and the Chargers' most difficult part of the schedule is behind them. Looking ahead, Dobbins has one of the top three running back schedules for the rest of the season. As the Chargers' offense continues to sync up, Dobbins is in line to benefit from consistent opportunities.

Why Buy? Dobbins is healthy, seeing a large snap share, and faces a favorable schedule moving forward. Grab him before his value climbs even higher.

          2. Trey McBride (TE, Arizona Cardinals)

The tight end position has been rough this year, but Trey McBride is a player who could give you a significant advantage. McBride missed Week 4 due to a concussion, which has created a small buy window. He’s been one of the league leaders in routes run and target share at the tight end position, which puts him in elite company.

While McBride’s stats haven’t been eye-popping yet, his underlying metrics show that he’s heavily involved in the Cardinals' passing game. If you’re struggling at tight end, McBride is a solid option who could outperform his current value for the rest of the season.

Why Buy? McBride is running a high number of routes and getting targets, making him a potential difference-maker at a position that lacks depth.

          3. Devon Achane (RB, Miami Dolphins)

Devon Achane is an RB1 talent who has been slowed down by injuries to the Dolphins' offense, particularly to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Achane has shown flashes of brilliance, but the Dolphins have struggled to find consistency without their starting QB. That said, Achane has a fantastic talent profile and a favorable rest-of-season schedule.

If you can hold on for a couple of weeks, the Dolphins have a bye in Week 6, and Tua is expected to return around Week 8. Achane’s value is currently at its lowest, and once Miami’s offense is back on track, he could become a major asset. This is a rare opportunity to buy low on a player with elite upside.

Why Buy? Achane’s value is low due to the Dolphins' offensive struggles, but he has the talent and schedule to deliver top-tier fantasy production once things stabilize.

These three players—J.K. Dobbins, Trey McBride, and Devon Achane—are excellent targets to bolster your roster heading into Week 5 and beyond. Buy them now while their value is low and get ready to reap the rewards as the season unfolds.

Welp, Najee, thanks for proving me right 🚮

                  • When will people stop giving him so much grace?!

                    • I stopped last year lol

                    • Once he stops rushing for a minimum 1000 yards and 8 TDs a season. Never outside an RB2 in his career.

                      • This year will change that, especially with Warren coming back at some point

                        • We will see broski. We shall see....
