NFL Week 1 PrizePicks Player Predictions

Caleb Williams (QB, Chicago Bears) MORE Than 0.5 Passing Yards

Frequently, PrizePicks offers up discounted lines that players would be wise to scoop up. This week is a smash prop. The 2024 NFL Draft first-overall pick, Caleb Williams, is sitting at an easy line of 0.5 Passing Yards. This means he only has to pass for a total of one yard for this to hit.

Coming into this season, the Chicago Bears overhauled their entire offense, bringing in Williams, then drafting receiver Rome Odunze at the 1.09, and also trading for former Los Angeles Charger Keenan Allen in the offseason. There isn’t a shortage of mouths that Williams will have to feed. Join the Bears parade as they announce their prowess over the NFC North. Take the over on this easy, discounted PrizePicks line.

Evan Engram (TE, Jacksonville Jaguars) MORE Than 46.5 Receiving Yards

The Miami Dolphins allowed the 10th-most receiving yards to opposing tight ends last season. Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram is poised to have another high-volume season this year. He could quite possibly be quarterback Trevor Lawrence‘s second-best option after Christian Kirk. Newly added Gabriel Davis is notorious for being boom/bust, and rookie Brian Thomas Jr. may take a bit to fully acclimate. This gives way to Engram being one of Lawrence’s favored targets and security blanket.

Sunday’s game between the Jaguars and the Dolphins is anticipated to be high-scoring. In 2023, Engram had no problem averaging 56.7 receiving yards a game. Look to Engram to dominate in targets and seamlessly exceed 46.5 receiving yards. This is a no-brainer of a PrizePicks prediction to go all-in on.

George Pickens (WR, Pittsburgh Steelers) LESS Than 4 Receptions

The Pittsburgh Steelers are squaring off against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday. Last year, the Falcons’ defense allowed the fourth-fewest receptions to opposing team’s receivers. They only allowed 175 total receptions on the year, which breaks down to just 10.3 receptions allowed per game to receivers.

Despite the receiver room losing Diontae Johnson, I anticipate Pickens falling short of this PrizePicks line of four receptions. Averaging just 3.7 receptions per game in 2023 and 3.1 in 2022, Pickens has yet to show WR1 volume. Will this be his year? I am hesitant. He will be sharing the receiver load with rookie Roman Wilson and depth receivers Van Jefferson and Calvin Austin III. New quarterback Russell Wilson (or Justin Fields if Wilson doesn’t suit up) also has tight end Pat Freiermuth to target and running back tandem Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren to dump off to.

The Falcons’ defense is much more porous when it comes to the tight end and running back positions. Fade Pickens for this game especially, and take the under on this PrizePicks line.
